Frequently asked questions

What is included in the free trial project?

Once you have created an account, the free project lets you try Airplan's essential features: generate a permit, add one or more plots, collect the geographic data, include the annexes and download the documents. It is free and requires no credit card.

Where does the data come from?

The documents are generated from official WalOnMap data, retrieved via the cadastral reference you provide, and from the client and architect details entered just once in Airplan.

Is there help to get started?

Yes. You can watch the demo video, browse the Help Centre or arrange a meeting with the team by email to prepare a first permit together.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Airplan accepts credit cards, Bancontact for single-project purchases, and automatic SEPA direct debits for subscriptions.

Are subscriptions based on the calendar year?

No. Airplan subscriptions are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. For example, a subscription taken out on 10 April 2025 is valid until 9 April 2026.

What happens if I change plan during the year?

You can change plan at any time from the Plan tarifaire (pricing plan) tab in your account. The calculation is pro rata to the time elapsed: the unused part of your current subscription is deducted, the new plan is charged for the remaining period, and your available projects are adjusted in the same proportion. Example halfway through the year, moving from 10 to 50 projects: you pay €645 (€830 for six months of the 50-project plan, minus €185 of unused 10-project plan) and receive 20 extra projects (25 for half of the 50-project plan, minus 5 for the remaining half of the 10-project plan). If the calculation works in your favour, for example when moving to a smaller plan, the difference is kept as a credit note for your next purchases from Airplan.

What happens to my unused projects?

As long as your subscription remains active, unused projects roll over from one period to the next, with no limit: with a 5-project plan kept for ten years without using any, you would have 50 projects available. If you do not renew your subscription, the remaining projects from that subscription are withdrawn on its end date. Projects bought individually remain usable with no time limit, with or without a subscription.

How do included projects and feasibility studies work?

A project is only used when you convert a feasibility study into a permit application. With a subscription, feasibility studies are unlimited and unused projects roll over on renewal.

Do municipalities accept signatures added in Airplan?

Since June 2026, architects have been submitting applications signed in Airplan to Walloon municipalities. To date, no refusals or comments have been reported to us. The signature is an image embedded in the document, like a scanned signature. If in doubt in your municipality, the "Pas de signature" (no signature) option leaves a space to sign by hand on the printed version. See the Help Centre article on signatures.

Does Airplan work with online permit submission (Mon Espace)?

Yes. You prepare and sign your annexes in Airplan, then upload the PDF to the regional platform in municipalities that have made the switch, or submit on paper elsewhere. The step-by-step timeline is set out on wallonie.airplan.be, on the page "Utiliser Airplan après la dématérialisation" (in French).

Can I request a feature?

Yes. Send your idea to bonjour@airplan.be or call 0494 13 05 79. The roadmap evolves with user feedback.
